In Italian, “E’amato” means “is loved” and Meg lives by that truth. Whether in the classroom, at the bargaining table, or in a room full of educators, Meg’s work is rooted in love, authenticity, and collective power.
After nearly three decades as a teacher, Meg jumped into union leadership eight years ago, driven by a vision to transform her local from one with power concentrated at the top to one powered by members. In just three and a half years as President of the Corona-Norco Teachers Association, and alongside a team of like-minded leaders, she has helped double Rep Council attendance from 100 to 200 representatives and grow CNTA’s committees from four to fifteen—each active, vibrant, and member-driven.
When Meg first became Vice President of the Corona-Norco Teachers Association, she saw how disconnected her local was from CTA’s statewide work and set out to change it. She revitalized engagement in the San Gorgonio Service Center by joining the Steering Committee and transforming meetings into spaces focused on real issues. As CNTA President, Meg encouraged other local leaders to get involved, helping build the Inland Empire Coalition for Scholar Success (IEC4SS), a collaborative network coordinating regional organizing and bargaining strategies. Now Vice Chair of the Service Center and a State WHO Award recipient, Meg is recognized for turning isolated locals into a connected, empowered movement of educators across the Inland Empire.
Meg believes that lasting change happens one member, one site, one local at a time. Beyond her local, she serves as Vice Chair of the San Gorgonio Service Center, Chair of the Riverside County Coalition of Presidents, Chair of the Inland Empire Coalition for Scholar Success, and Chair of the statewide Teacher Evaluation and Academic Freedom Committee.
At every level, Meg’s theme remains the same: Local Voices, Statewide Strength.
Most importantly, Meg is deeply loved by, and loves, her wife, Stephanie, and their three children: Elora, Hayden, and Tanner.
